Did it!

Here's the scoop on the boot camp. It was over last week and I did before & after fit tests and measurements. I lost 5 1/2 inches and 11 lbs! Most of it came off the hips & thighs, and that is a good thing. I can see a lot more muscle than I used to. I'm back in what I consider my ideal weight range and feel fantastic. I can do 26 push-ups instead of 5. I've really improved my eating habits and although it's always easy to be critical, I'm really pleased about it in general. I've had so much fun and am so happy about how I feel that I'm going to stay on with Tami and learn to be a trainer! Good times...

This is evidence of how much I love Tami - I'm going to post the before/after photos. I tried to keep the same pose although I'd rather show off my "new" arms. The difference I feel in strength and confidence is a lot more dramatic than photos can show. It's not ALL about looks. Really.

Awesome work Tannis. You always look beautiful and perfect to me, but I know how it is when you feel at your optimal health. I love that you want to train. I have been loving my yoga session and I have decided that I will be a yoga teacher at one point in my life. It is amazing when you find something that works for you physically and mentally. I'm glad you found your something. Take care of yourself. Karen.

Thanks guys, I was proud of making it through this one. I don't have a great track record of seeing these things through.

Karen, that sounds like a fantastic idea, I didn't know you were going regularly! I'm thinking this is one more "something" to add to my list...so many things, so little time.

Tannis you do ALWAYS look good. But SO cool that you did before and after shots. Great job! Who is Tami? I LOVE bootcamps!

Thanks Kaili! There's a link below to Tami's bio - she's a friend from the small town I grew up in (but lives in LA now). We worked out online together 3x/week via a skype-type program.

I've thought of you specifically sometimes during this bootcamp because her main push is to not have to leave your kids. The moms that take her classes all bring their kids with them. Apparently it can be chaos the first few times but generally they fall into a rhythm and like the playdates! She teaches with her 3 kids there for the most part.

Sherisse, it's fun to have someone to learn with. I'd love you see your before & after photos from the last year, I bet they're amazing! For some reason it's so hard to post the "before" though.

Well if those pictures don't sell a gal on bootcamp, I don't know what will. What a transformation! Congrats on doing what you set out to do - awesome job.

So excited to hear all about your new venture into the land of training.

good golly you're hot, bootcamp or no bootcamp!

Ah, thanks for the flattery Ang & Nicole, it goes a long way! I haven't trained properly in over a week and feel like I'm in withdrawal.

Nicole - sounds like you're starting some sort of awesome program too, I'm very curious! I know Ang is on a rigorous schedule of trying to keep up with her very busy boys.

Tannis, I had to stop by from Angella's and comment - You looked good before but WOW, the improvement is amazing. Congratulations!

and I know just what you mean that looks aren't everything, I enjoy much for the feeling of strength and the ability to push myself so hard more than the improvements in my body since I got fit.

If I lived there, I would join your class but alas, Sask is too far of a commute :(

Hi Kami, thanks for stopping by! Apologies for the comment moderation limbo...had so much spam lately I had to turn it on but I still forget to "publish" comments.

It feels fantastic to be fit and strong - although I'll always think I can do more/better. Especially in the nutrition department. If I get too content, I get lazy!

There's always the online bootcamp or the taped versions if you don't have a lot of options there. Not sure if you're rural or in the city.
